Hidden in Plain Sight

The American Association for State and Local History announce that the Basque Museum and Cultural Center is the recipient of an Award of Merit from the AASLH Leadership in History Awards for the exhibit “Hidden in Plain Sight: The Basques”. The AASLH Leadership in History Awards recognizes achievement in the preservation and interpretation of state and local history.

Sian Mooney, a Boise State University economics professor, has been selected as a program officer within the National Science Foundation’s EPSCoR office for two years, beginning Aug. 29. She will remain a Boise State professor during the appointment.

Mooney holds a governor’s appointment to the Idaho Governor’s Carbon Sequestration Advisory Committee and the Governor’s Energy Assessment Committee. She joined the Department of Economics in the College of Business and Economics at Boise State in 2006. Mooney has a Ph.D. in agricultural and resource economics from Oregon State University, a master’s degree in agricultural economics and farm management from the University of Manitoba and a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth.
