A Basque in Boise

Still looking for students to attend the July Barnetegi in the Basque Country

A couple of months ago I wrote about two opportunities to learn Basque by attending a Barnetegi (an intensive immersion program) during the summer, one in New York, and another one in the Basque Country.

As it turns out, there is at least one place needing to be filled in the Barnetegi organized for the month of July in the Basque Country for Level 2 Basque, which includes students learning Basque in various Basque clubs in North America. The minimum enrollment was eight in order for the Barnetegi to take place and now only one more person is needed.

According to Izaskun Kortazar, NABO’s Basque language coordinator in North America, basic Basque classes are usually not offered during the summer, so this Barnetegi is a great opportunity for Basque students at this level to improve their language skills. Having one more person would guarantee the Barnetegi taking place, but there is no problem if more people sign up.
