Reality check
I love to see the checks come in after doing a translation job, so much more since Chase made it possible to deposit them into your account straight from your mobile phone. Except once in a while it doesn’t work and I end up having to cash them the old fashion way. Like today. I had to change out of my pajamas and into my workout clothes, drive the two and a half minutes down the road to my favorite place on earth, the Fred Meyer, swipe my debit card, type in my PIN, and insert the check into the check-inserting slot. What a pain in the ass, I thought while I drove back home to keep working on another translation and future check deposit. The glitch in technology kind of made the start of my day suck a little bit. Plus I’m down $700 after getting new tires on my car. That didn’t help better my mood.
Last night, a two-year old girl was accidentally ran over by a car in a Berriz parking lot.
This is excellent. A great reminder. That poor girl and her family.

I immediately thought about Maitane, tried to imagine how the mother must have felt, but my mind won’t let me, it refuses to go there. And that’s ok with me.
