A Basque in Boise

Boise’s first Txirrindulari Bike Ride (Cyclist Bike Ride)

TxirrindulariEguna

See? Who says Basque people are only about eating and drinking? As you can see by yesterday’s Korrika news and today’s post about biking, once in a while we throw in some exercise too.

I know we haven’t even hit the summer months, but a heads up never hurt anybody. On September 13, 2014, Boise will be holding its very first Txirrindulari Bike Ride! This is a friendly, all levels welcome, 15-20 mile bike ride that will be competition free, but full of great fun. The morning will begin with everyone meeting together, taking some pictures of the group, and then it’s off to the trails. The ride will end where it began and we will all share in a potluck lunch to talk about the ride and laugh at the fantastic memories we made.

More specific details to come, but get signed up now. The more the merrier! And if you aren’t an avid biker but would like to participate, please sign up under the “SAG” (Support and Gear), as we will need folks to drive along and help the cyclists, take pictures, and help set up for the lunch.

Date – Saturday, September 13, 2014
Start/End location – Basque Center, 601 Grove Street (Mus room, second floor)
Start time – Meet up at 8:00 am, ride will begin at 8:30 am
What to bring – Bike, helmet, water, sunblock/hat, and a yummy potluck dish. The morning coffee, route maps and air pumps, Gatorade, and bananas on the ride will be provided)

To sign up now, fill out the registration form here.
