My wife’s father and his wife just alighted at Hendaye station from Paris–an interesting and scenic way to come to the Basque country.  Besides the museums and cafés, during their time in Paris they enjoyed a sunset river cruise on the Seine in the style of Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant in Charade.  The friendly staff of the 1939 riverboat “Calif” toured them through the city, passing the Tour Eiffel at nightfall with people enjoying the river bank under lamp light, sipping on wine, munching sandwiches, an evening picnic full of neighborly laughter.  Then a 5 hour high speed train trip brought them across fields, passing traditional stone farm houses, carrying them into the land of the Basque.  Now for the tour of San Sebastián-Donostia, and we will be dropping into San Sebastián Food to begin our culinary tour of this delicious city.
