Celebrate International Basque Language Day on Dec. 3 in Boise

On Saturday, December 3 at 6:00 pm, Boise Basques and non-Basques alike will gather at the Basque Block in downtown Boise to celebrate International Basque Language Day.

Meet us for drinks, a potluck, and participate in a Basque Karaoke competition. If singing alone in front of a crowd is not for you, you can still enjoy the music by simply singing traditional Basque songs while we go de poteo (bar hoping) in truly Basque Country style.

Euskera is one of the oldest languages in the world, spoken along the Pyrenees as well as around the world, especially in certain parts of North and South America. This language has survived for thousands of years and it is still going strong.

You do not need to be Basque or a good singer to enjoy the event. Just come by, see old friends, make some new ones, and have some fun!

For more information and updates, feel free to drop me or Izaskun Kortazar a line. You can also join our Basque Events in Boise group on Meetup.com.
