Digital communities of the Basque Diaspora: Interview with Pedro J. Oiarzabal (in Spanish)

Back in November, we talked about Pedro J. Oiarzabal‘s latest book, The Basque Diaspora Webscape: Identity, Nation, and Homeland, 1990s-2010s, being published by the Center for Basque Studies, University of Nevada, Reno, under its Basque Diaspora and Migration Studies book series. His is an innovative book dealing with the Basque institutional diaspora presence on the Internet.

Yesterday, Oiarzabal was interviewed (in Spanish) by Vanessa Sanchez in Entrada Libre (ETB), where he talked about the reasons behind the book, the research, and what it all means for Basques around the world to be living on the digital age. He even dared to answer the million dollar question: what is a Basque?

You can purchase the book online, through a variety of venues, like Amazon or directly from the Center for Basque Studies.

Many, many thanks Henar! It would be great hearing from Basque diaspora webmasters regarding my assertions and help me to figure out what the road will take us in technological terms.
